Seamless: Created by piercing a Solid Billet ideal for high-pressure applications.

Welded: Formed by Rolling Plates and welding the seams making them more cost-effective.

Common Grades: 304 (general purpose), 316/316L (high corrosion resistance, medical/food grade).

Key Advantages: High corrosion resistance, longevity, low maintenance and excellent temperature stability (capable of handling extreme hot/cold).

Applications:

Industrial: Oil and Gas Transport, Chemical Processing and Heat Exchangers.

Hygienic: Food, Beverage and Pharmaceutical processing.

Structural: Architectural, Automotive Exhausts and Marine Environments.

These Pipes & Tubes are widely used in structural, automotive and utility projects due to their superior strength and in many cases attractive aesthetic appearance.

Nickel and Nickel Alloy Pipes & Tubes are high-performance tubular products designed for extreme environments offering exceptional corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength and structural integrity. Primarily composed of Nickel combined with elements like Chromium, Molybdenum and Iron these Pipes & Tubes are vital for demanding industries such as Chemical Processing, Aerospace and Oil & Gas.

Key Characteristics

Superior Corrosion Resistance: They hold up against Acidic and Alkaline Solutions as well as Oxidation at High Temperatures.

High-Temperature Strength: Materials like Nickel 201 can maintain integrity up to 1250°F (approx. 677°C) while Nickel-Chromium Alloys excel above 760°C.

Ductility and Toughness: These Pipes & Tubes maintain ductility while providing high strength and resistance to cracking.

Types: Available in both Seamless (Higher Strength) and Welded (More Economical) forms.

Common Alloys and Their Uses

Inconel (600, 625, 800 and 718): Known for high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance in Aerospace and Power Generation.

Monel (400): Exceptional resistance to Hydrofluoric Acid and Seawater used in Marine applications.

Hastelloy (C-276, C-22): Excellent for highly aggressive Chemical Environments.

Nickel-Copper (e.g., 70/30 Cu-Ni): Widely used in Marine Heat Exchangers.

Applications

Oil & Gas: Used in environments with high sulphur-containing feedstocks.

Chemical Processing: Transporting corrosive Fluids and Gases.

Power Generation: Used in Heat Exchangers and Steam Generators.

Aerospace: High-Temperature engine components.

Carbon steel Pipes & Tubes are durable cost-effective and high-strength Pipes & Tubes made primarily from Iron and Carbon (up to 2.1%). They are widely used for Transporting Oil, Gas and Water as well as in Structural Construction, Automotive and Industrial applications due to their ability to withstand high pressure and harsh conditions.

Key Aspects of Carbon Steel Pipes & Tubes:

Composition & Types: Classified by Carbon content into Low-Carbon (Mild Steel, <0.3%), Medium-Carbon (0.3%−0.6%) and High-Carbon (>0.6%). Common types include Seamless (for high pressure) and Welded (ERW/LSAW for structural/low-pressure).

Advantages: High durability, excellent strength-to-weight ratio, high shock resistance and relatively low cost compared to alloys. They are also easy to fabricate (weld, cut and bend).

Applications:

Oil and Gas: Transporting Natural Gas and Oil.

Construction: Structural Supports, Building Frameworks and Bridges.

Industrial: Chemical Processing, Sewage and High-Pressure Steam Lines.

Drawbacks: While strong they can be susceptible to corrosion if not Properly Coated or Galvanized.

Mild Steel (MS) Pipes & Tubes in India are commonly classified by strength (YST Grades) application standards (IS: 1239, IS: 3589) and thickness classes (Light-A, Medium-B, Heavy-C). Key Grades include IS 1239 (YST 210/240/310/355) and IS 3589 (Fe 330/410) widely used for Water, Gas and Structural Applications.

Key Specifications & Grades

Material: Low Carbon Steel (Carbon 0.04% to 0.30%).

Manufacturing: ERW (Electric Resistance Welded), Seamless or Hot Rolled.

Note: Medium Class (Class B) is generally sufficient for most HVAC Projects in India, while Heavy Class (Class C) is chosen based on Load and Environmental Conditions.

Galvanized Pipes:

Galvanized Pipes feature a protective Zinc Coating that offers Excellent Corrosion Resistance. These are commonly used in Outdoor and Harsh Environments. Their ability to Resist Rust and Corrosion makes them durable options for Water Distribution and Structural supports where exposure to moisture is frequent.

By Employing Galvanization these Pipes Gain Longevity and Reliability in External Plumbing applications. This Coating method also provides a Cost-Effective Layer of protection compared to Stainless Steel offering economic advantages while maintaining necessary performance standards in Water Systems.

Furthermore, Galvanized Pipes in Agriculture provide Durability for Irrigation Systems. The thick Zinc Coating offers protection against the Elements which is critical in environments where operational life spans are extended by continuous exposure to Water and other External Factors.
